Sensoji Temple

Asakusa’s main temple brings one back to Japan’s history and offers a strong sense of Japanese culture. Passing through the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, one finds the Nakamise Dori souvenir-shopping street, which leads to a complex of fascinating religious structures. Street food and iconic Japanese goods in the streets around the Sensoji temple complex. Just across the Sumida River from Asakusa, walking toward Tokyo Skytree, are a string of attractive cafes and restaurants in the new Mizumachi complex.

teamLab Planets

Opened at Toyosu island (less than a 10 minute cab ride from the Ginza area), this has an Instagram-perfect immersive space comprising virtual experiences and digital art installation. The attached “Vegan Ramen UZU” restaurant is an often-mentioned feature of this museum.

Toyosu Market

A one minute walk from teamLab Planets, Toyosu Market is the world’s largest fish market, relocated from its famous Tsukiji location.
